hello all

I'm an avid metal detector when i have the time but i was thinking of picking up another hobby once the snow melts, i lived in the yoop all my life and there are a banded and operating mines all over the territory. what are the chances of pulling and amount of gold in the upper peninsula of Michigan, I've herd stories and what not about people finding decent sized pickers and what not. mostly in running rivers and streams. just wondering if anyone that lives around the area that has tried it or maybe has some more information on some locations, superior black sand and certain rivers i hear most about.

I also am a Michigander. I just got into prospecting this winter. I've been out about 7 times this winter on 4 different Creeks for no more than a few hours at a time. Ive been able to bring back a few specs every time so far. I am also reading a book right now about the gold in the UP. I'd love to plan a trip to the UP to prospect this spring! Let me know if you're interested.
