I had hardly anytime to detect this weekend. I decided to try a farm that I have not been to for awhile and hunted for a half an hour yesterday with only one musketball. Today between running around I drove back to the farm with one goal...find silver from the 1800s. After ten minutes my wife calls and our daughter needed to be picked up. My wife was out shopping for shoes and since she never buys things for herself I told her to continue shopping and I would go. Of course I had to swing on the way back to the car. Glad I did...about 30 feet from the edge of the field I got a good signal at 2". I put my shovel to the side and pulled out my Lesche to flip out a small plug.

This little gold pocket watch was staring back at me. Yes, I thought about calling my wife back and asking her to pick up our daughter so I could continue to hunt but I did not. This was the last target I dug today. The only other find was another musketball when I first arrived. I never dig accomplish my goal of a silver from the 1800s....I guess I'll have to go back soon.

The watch has one front cover and two back covers with a stem at 12 o'clock. The inside back cover is marked 'Premier' with a serial number of 5001327. The outside back cover is marked 10K on the inside. The actual watch is missing. this is only the case. If anyone knows anything about this watch case I would appreciate the information. I also posted this on a Pocket Watch forum so I'll let you know if anything turns up elsewhere.

Enjoy the pictures.
