Then, Too!
There's one I hope to run down
It's SE of Payson
It is an area of gold nuggets :o
The Apache's of the day/area, used to pick them up and melt the nuggets into
"bullets"! :tongue3:
No! "Bs!"
This is a TRUE STORY!

yea bill, but isn't that in giselia and now private property?

Pippinwhitepaws
Nope!
Farther, to the NE, :tongue3: as far as I have come up with ?? that is ?? ::)
I think that the area is going to be along (close to) the base of "The Rim"
There's also, a cave/spring close to this area, that IS! in "The Rim"
Although, there is a "Marker"
I have a photo of it, taken from a distance
It Really STANDS OUT!
Almost "scarry" :o when you see it
It looks surreal ! :o
I am heading back there this trip!

"The Apache's of the day/area, used to pick them up and melt the nuggets into
"bullets"!" If this is the case, I'd sure like to know where they SPENT them bullets! :laughing7:

Go south of Payson to Sunflower Arizona and then west and you will find an area where mines were being worked and/or had been worked. I have not been there but a relative along with several partners tried to developer a mine 20 or thirty years ago. From what I was told, dissention caused their plans to go awry but they had found both lode and placer gold on their claim(s).

The access into this area was via Forest Service roads and 20 + years they were suppose to be terrible shape so I would not advise anyone going into this area with out the proper help and equipment.

I have seen and have panned the gold south of Payson.

A couple of things...

VERY rough terrain; loose rock, steep, NO WATER.

SNAKES! Lots and lots of SNAKES! "Buzzers" galore.

I know a man who frequents the area on a regular basis and ALWAYS finds more than just flecks and flakes and has been doing so for years.

The area is "claimed" out for the most part, so please do respect those that have been staked.
