Hi all'

Was down to Va. for a long weekend. Got to try out the new DD 6x9 on the Mxt. It worked much better then the standard coil in the heavy minerals. Worked with it for a few hours and found lots of led shot and 22 caseings, but managed two small nuggets out of the down streem side of the old tailing piles in the edge of the stream. Most of the junk was a very good solid sound and a positave ID and the two nuggets were just a slight change in hum. The hot rocks are a pain but I quickly learned to pick them out from the other ground cover and knock them out of the way. Still found the power sluice to be more productave tho.

We got into some nice bedrock and found a good run of quartz that we pounded on most of the day Sat. Looked real promising but we seamed to do better in the overburden. the gold was moved buy the storm and not really to deep into the streem bed.

Art' Sorry I didn't get more time to spend with you. Hope you had a good time.

Jon' Hope all is going well and maybe we'll hook up in the spring.

I'll post some pics later.

Dave,
Great news that you were able to find a couple of nuggets with your MXT. What size were they? I guess I should have spent more time looking, but those hot rocks were driving me crazy! Check out the propecting guys from Canada and what they do to the black sand when they collect enough. Cant wait to see the pictures.

Found a little time to fool around with the Dig-Cam this morning so hear they are. Very nice little finds, Big for this area even tho there not like some I've seen posted here. To me they were HUGE! These are my first nuggets with the MXT and hopefully not the last.

Came home to colder weather and a broken heater to repair and working ten hr. days. This weekend I hope to go through and unpack our stuff so I'll also be posting some picks of the stuff we got with the power sluice.

How big? Without something like a dime for scale, its hard to tell if they are the size of dollars or pinheads.

MXT has three separate boards, as I'm told-- one for coins/ jewelry, one for relics, and one for nuggets. There is a 3-position switch to tell the computer what you're looking for, though I believe the 'VDI' numbers are the same. My experience with a borrowed unit showed it can pick up REALLY fine targets like tiny foil, so I imagine it can find small gold flakes.

Sorry' I did think of putting something in the pic as a scale for size. I'm just brain dead trying to play catch-up. Vacations great but the work don't stop coming in just cuse I'm gone!

The larger one is about 5/8 and the smaller about 3/8 of an inch.
