Went for a short hunt after work today to the Pomander site. 39 degrees with wind. I've come to realize the only way I'm gonna make any more finds here is to work real slow through the iron. Using the 12 x 13 coil in pro zero iron disc at 0 and I was able to get some good finds. 1952 Jefferson and a 1919 Buffalo. I was happy and impressed with my machine when I found a very deep tiny piece of sterling. Possibly a bracelet link. The real winner though was the mens 14k wedding band. I've probably dug at least a dozen rings here of varying age but this is my first gold one from here and only my second ever. It's even my size

I have learned to just tune out all the noise.
Congratulations on the gold.

Nice rewards for going out today, it was just 32-33F and I didn't have it in me. :) Maybe it'll be all white in the morning they say. :(

Those iron laden spots are always hiding good things, nice job

I am finally learning to not dig everything and it is paying off. Still tempted to dig but getting disciplined.

Nice finds, the iron suks but part of the challenge. GL

There are two quite large dense pockets of iron on the site but really iron just everywhere. 90% of the best finds have come from the two dense iron patches

NICE FINDS THERE TOASTED.

toasted,

I've been fortunate to find a few ok rings....not easy when you do land hunting only....the first left one is 14k with a synthetic ruby...a few 10ks in the mix and the snake ring is 2 tone 18k gold as well as the fat wedding band far right.

Problem is most of my regular sites have been pretty much cleaned and I'm the main competition....lol...

Regards + HH

Bill

Thanks and I hope my next one resembles one in your avatar

Nice GOLD recovery! :occasion14:

It's always a good hunt when you come home with silver and gold. Hard to get a full date Buffalo. Do you have a picture of the 1919?

I've got about 10 Buffalos in my short time metal detecting. Ive probably got dates off 7 or 8
