I don't know if this was a land find or creek/stream/river find but no matter, you should be scouring everywhere above and below where the specimens were found as well as on both sides where it is possible that more specimens could be located. If you have or can get a good Gold detecting metal detector, it should help you locate more specimens and possibly deposits. Just make sure to check, sift, shake and pan practically everything you can in the area. It will take some time and hard work but will probably be well worth it and especially so, if it leads you to a major deposit!
By the way, unless the photos are off on the color of the Gold on the Quartz specimens, the Gold appears to me to be at least 20K but might come in a little higher based on the color. While I am no expert at being able to determine Gold purity by color and never will claim to be one, I have studied a lot of Gold specimens and Gold Jewelry and have gotten pretty good at being able to tell the purity by color.
