gold in fossils

is it impossible to find a good gold vein in a fossilized imprint from a dinosaur

Sometime in the past I read that gold can be found in petrofied wood roots...(aka fossilized wood):dontknow:

That would probably refer to gold being deposited into the area around the roots. It wouldn't actually be a vein. Could even be fine gold deposited into the tracks, but no vein.

Pyrite has been know to form in Fossils ie charmouth_fossil_21.jpg so has gold IE gold_bug.jpg Either way it has to happen during the mineral exchange between the Fossils bones and minerals in the surrounding sediment it gets covered in. As the bone is replaced with minerals from the muck around it ,, yes some gold may leach into it.. Extremely rare and very beautiful.

I have often wondered about nuggets being co-located with fossils. Many of the world's fossil beds (bone beds) are river channels where the bones collected. Many locations have gravels mixed with the bones. I have always wondered if there could be paleo-placers in the matrix as well.
