Hunted a big county park yesterday with a huge beach. My buddy and I got there early in the AM and worked the beach only. We did a nice job of clearing out all the sharp trash for all the future beach combers. But I did manage to pull a 1891 Indian Head from about a foot deep. This is my first pre 1900 coin so I'm very stoked.
Then we headed back towards home and decided to hit a local town park that we had never been to before. Within the first 30' I dug up this Jostens beauty about 5" deep. After about five minutes of taking it all in I started to swing again. I went over the same hole I just put back together from the Jostens ring. (pretty much by accident) and got a nice hit. WTH? So I dug up the second ring from the same hole. I'm pretty sure the second ring is just costume, but it was still cool.
I'm doing research on the Jostens ring as we speak. It's not a class ring, but looks to some kind of a club ring or something.
