Hey all! After returning the silver and platinum class ring that had been missing for 31 years back in November I was contacted by a local woman who was hoping I could find her sons Gold class ring that had been missing for around 6 years. I told her I would certainly try to. Our schedules were both hectic and we were finally able to meet yesterday to try and locate the ring.
She mentioned it had been hard for her to scrape the money together to get the ring for her son since she was a single mother of two and that her son had been devastated when he lost it in the large drive at a building they owned outside of town. He had laid the ring on his car while doing some work and when he went to leave he realized he had left the ring on his car but by then it had already fell off in the drive.
They had made numerous attempts to find it with no luck so now I was going to try my luck at it. She pointed the area out to me in the drive where they thought it had been lost and I started the hunt. It was tough hunting in the gravel that was also littered with .22 shell and bits of pop cans and pull tabs. I hunted the area she pointed out to me and then continued down that side of the drive towards the road hoping to find it and had no luck. I swapped to my 11"coil to cover ground quicker and expanded the search area in case it bounced or something when it fell off the car. About 30 minutes after expanding the area I located the ring almost 30'from where they thought it would be. After about 3 hours or so of hunting I had the ring and rushed home to clean it up and get some pictures of it before returning it to her at her home in town.
She was extremely happy to have the ring back and was hoping to surprise her son with it soon. After 6 years and numerous attempts to find the ring this 12G 10K yellow gold class ring had been located and returned to the owner.
Another great return and happy ending. Good karma!
I was glad to have the chance to help these people out and have a chance to enjoy the experience again of the wonderful things we can do with this great hobby! Thanks for looking and HH!
