First and foremost Thanks SKINNY PUPPY for the long drive, the spot and the Skinny Puppy music

Spring flowers were in full bloom today.
Pat and I took a ride out to where the 1893 Columbian Expedition was held, Hyde Park ?
Kind of drizzly today but not enough to stop a couple of detectorist.
As you can see from the pictures it was an interesting area.
I found a 1941S Merc near the large blown over tree that Pat ( pictured ) and I worked over.
After about an hour or so I got a solid signal at 1 1/2 inches down from one of the paths, I stuck the shovel in the ground at out popped the ring. What a sight to see, a class ring!!
It's from the Da La Salle Institute in Chicago Class of 1981.
The initials are in it and it is 10kt. ( I have emailed the school already seeking help in locating the owner )

Any advise or help in locating the owner would be appreciated.

If the owner is located the ring will be returned and 1 of my goals will be reached.
The other goal is to find a Seated Coin.

Enjoy the pics and thanks for looking.

Gotta Love This Hobby !!!!!!! DPSB......

I will keep you all posted when and if the owner is found. Pictures will be included.

Re: Gold Class Ring Found

Nice find, DPSB! Hope you are able to locate the owner. I found a gold ring about 2 weeks ago, and have an ad in the paper this weekend to see if anyone can identify it.

HH and WTG!!

Cool finds, nice ring. Looks like tough diggin in that area. Cool how you pushed that tree over.

Nice class ring and coins. Sweet pics. Good luck with the ring.

Cool finds. That's a nice class ring. Good luck on finding the owner.

Its a credit to you that finding the owner of the ring is as exciting to you as finding it in the first place. Good on you!

Nice going out with ya DPSB. I hope someday I too can return a ring to an owner. Being altruistic is a great way to work out karma.

I have a name to go with the ring..Common name,I have been making a lot of phone calls. This is going to be harder than I thought, but I'm not giving up.....

Thanks for the replys... DPSB

Nice finds. Glad to hear that you are making an effort to return the ring to the owner. The name helps a lot.

You have to assume that the family is local. If you can not find the person through your telephone calls, you can always go back to the school and get some of the class mates names and attempt to contact them to find out if they know the owners location. Hope you can find the owner or one of the owners family members.

Kudos to you fpr doing the right thing.

Let us know how you make out.

I went to Josten's site and they don't help find lost ring owners anymore (did in 1990's when I bought mine). They did point out that googling "lost class ring" would lead to lost/found ring sites.

Here is a link to one if you want to post:

Good luck and HH.
