gold around Birmingham Alabama

Dose anyone know any info about gold being around Birmingham ,AL ? To be more specific around Trussville AL. I live in Trussville and I really hate the 2 hour drive to Talladega AL, just want a sight closer to home.

Also from trussville. Done some panning and rock hounding around here but I'm such a beginner I really need to go with someone who knows what they're looking at and can teach me prospecting in the field. I also do some metal detecting.

Same here I've be in a couple of creeks around Trussville but turned up no color. I've seen on freegoldmaps.com where someone pulled up some color up above springville and trussville is on the same mountain chain.

Where do you go near Talladega? Is there somewhere you can go without trespassing on someone's property? Or did you get owner's permission? Just getting started and have no idea what I am doing.
