had a rare opportunity to get out for a few hours with both my father and brother this morning. headed up to my honey-hole of a field a few towns away where i've found a lot of great coins and jewelry this fall. my dad's been itching to go up there after seeing my posts. it was a gorgeous day here in the northeast to be detecting, and everyone walked away with silver. mike actually found seated money in the nearby woods, keep an eye out for his post in the coming days. i had a very good day, barberlicious in fact, plus the added bonus of 14k gold...

Wow, Steve. Nice bunch of silver. The pendant is also really cool. Good to see family together in the hobby. GL and HH with that field.

C,

being able to be out detecting with
your family is tops.

Sounds like you all had a good day.

Very nice finds; gold and silver sure
make a day nice.

Would you care to say more about the
location? Just in general what it may
have been at one time or how it was
used. Your call, don't sell the farm ;D

Again, very nice finds and glad the
family was together pulling up some
fine finds. ;D

have a good un............

si- not really sure what this field was used for, the bulk of the stuff i've found here dates to early 20th. it's a couple miles down the road from an old summer camp, i think during that era it was used for sports and other gatherings. but i've found a lot of buckles and ox shoes, plow parts and misc iron down pretty deep, not to mention the 1749 reale last week, so it definitely goes way back in time...

Wow, what a honey-hole indeed! I absolutely love barbers. Seems like forever since I found one. Apparrently, there should be more goods to be found! Keep it up, HH!

interesting fact: inside of the gold thing called a mazzusah is a tiny rolled up copy of the Torah in Hebrew.
Its a pretty sacred Jewish thing.

holy smokes !!!! what a day indeed !!.. can't wait to see the other finds too..

Congrats on the finds ! Sounds like a great hunt site. And a great way to spend time with family.

Cheffer,

Man, those are some nice coins. You've blown me away with your last few posts. I find myself scrolling through to see if you've posted.

Thanks for sharing the great pics. It's snowing today, and all that old silver helps keep me warm.

Very nice finds,,,, love the gold ;) I have noticed that the 2 smaller silver are 2 years apart, and the 2 big silver are also 2 years apart..... Now all you need to do is find the in-between years ::)

God bless
Peter
