Sorry I missed you but am willing in the future to try to go prospecting. I am a resident of Glendale and know a decent area but the July is out. Summer temps are 100+. This desert will kill you. Winter here is when one ventures out. I have worked construction here since 1982 and have not prospected in the summer unless I go up north to at least 3000 ft or more where temps are still in the nineties. There are recreational prospecting opportunities at Lynx Lake Recreational area in Prescot Valley, Arizona area. Virtually all decent producing areas are a few hour drive at most. Whites Goldmasters and Tesoro Lobo really handle the sensitivity and ground balancing required to achieve depths desired for succesful nugget shooting.RSVP. ;D

Thanks for emailing. I hope to get back down there in the winter. You are right, the desert is hot! I think it was 110-114 the whole time we were there. Detecting was good until about 11am. I did not even try to go out after that. I can see Phoenix in the winter, but without a pool, summers would be tough.

We must be crazy. To go outside in Phoenix in the summer. I got tired of it and moved to Texas. I worked constuction for over 17 years and still went out and metal detected and gold panned in the Bradshaws. Ive done good recreational panning at Lynx creek, Turkey creek, Cow springs and all kinds of areas north of Lake Pleasant. I even know of a place to find Fire agate. Love the desert and miss it. In Texas somebody always owns the property no matter where you go.
