Goat's head on the beach!You GOTTA see this!Warning- Pic may be graphic to some!

I went detecting this morning at Ft.Lauderdale on the beach. I didn't find anything but a bunch of clad,the typical 200 bottlecaps and pulltabs and one small gold earring that I spyed by eye. However,lying on the beach,just off the surf line was a goat's head. This thing still had a tag in it's ear. What the heck is something like this doing on the beach? I might add that several weeks earlier down the road a piece at another beach, one morning at sunrise I saw a group of Haitians having some kind of ritual or Baptism or something, right at the water's edge.I also found many pieces of used candles lying near where they were doing whatever it was they were doing. I got 2 questions,the first is, do you think this goat was used in some sort of Voodoo or Santeria ritual? The second question is- Can I track down this goat's owner by the ID tag that is posted here?

There was an article in The Tennessean the other day about how farmers around here are making a ton of money raising goats due to the large immigrant population we have from Africa and the Middle East.

It had to be a ceremonial deportation ritual.....My Aunt just retired down there at the Lauderdale P.D.,gotta check this one out...Hoping for the deportation side......God help America!!!!

That reminds me of a neighbor I had in Miami, from some island in the West Indies, was admiring my planted flowers. She said, in broken English, that they were very nice and she liked them. She then bent over and picked a handfull.

It happens here in NJ as well especially in the park by me coconuts also play a big part in the sacrfice
last time a neighbor called me and the cops we had to then call out the esu guys and hazmat all over a chicken, coconut and candle, Me thinks the police have better things to do.
bag it and throw it in the garbage but dont let the Haticians see ya do it they get real uppety when u clean up after them
the most that will happen is a littering fine if that as far as tracking down the owner chances that goat has been sold umpteen times with little or no paperwork as long as it has the Govt' of Ag tag thats all they need for sale all down the line. Dont expect any results when your trying to do the right thing or prevent this sort of behavior the bleeding heart ciivil libertians wount permit that sort of stuff (sanity)

i hope the law finds them nut cases wonder where it was done may be not too far away better make sure
you carry some mace when you were to go their next time.they will be back always

I have found some weird things on the beaches in the Carolinas from time to time but nothing like this, It just goes to show you you never know what you will find that washes up out of the ocean.

I recently read about a woman( on here ) who found some Whale vomit on the beach,I guess its worth big bucks as they use it in perfume !

I hope you at least kicked the head to the side and detected underneath it.

7 years and 7 months of pulltabs.....that's a lot of pulltabs.

used to work with a viet manese fellow who weekly brought in eggrolls...he made them and after turning down many, i finally had to try one due to the great smell of them driving me crazy....after that he would bring me a couple every time he made them...i probably ate around a hundred all together....then one day he invites me to his house.....sitting around drinking a few coldweisers he takes me to the kitchen and opens the freezer...in there is a full carcass of something....hunting many years myself i knew right off it was nothing i had skinned before...i looked at him to ask...he was standing there with chest stuck out and big smile on like a novice hunter after killing his first buck...i asked, '' what the #&!! is that ? ''.....still smiling very proudly he says to me, '' jjjaaman sheppa'' ...........{translation being german sheppard}.........last egg roll i ate for years although it was some good eating i have to admit......goes to show, you never know.........gldhntr

Hmmmmm....Dont know but i'll bet it's not pretty ! Oh and i forgot it also said it's used as a seasoning by some folks ! :P

That's undoubtably a left over souvenier from a Santeria ritual. Strange, unsanitary, disturbing, but a Carribian belief system that uses the sacrifice of animals in its rituals. To each their own, but they should not have left that behind on the beach. Besides the obvious health concerns, it could be upsetting to a child. Has anyone ever found a shrunken head? ;-0
