Don't think so. The American indians did not have the technology to make glass. It's too clean for "colonial" glass too. That glass was usually quite bubbly. I think it's a coincidence.

You definitely found A bunch of reduction flakes. I'm pretty sure that's just a piece of broken glass. I would definitely be going back.. Good luck.

I have some glass for comparison.

I've never heard much talk about this...but on colonial sites I have found alot of Flint flakes from the making of musket flints. If that glass is associated with that Flint.. which it may not be.. you could be looking at artifacts from a different kind of occupation. I'm looking forward to what you find tomorrow.

The glass I found does look very clear and don't have bubbles so probably not anything. There will definitely be much more from that site but won't be able to go back till next week sometime. That's if it don't snow lol

Or it could have been someone trying to Knapp points... I see a lot of videos online of people making points out of glass idk still cool looking

I am going to be honest on the pictures below the glass. They look like normal rocks to me. Unless you can get a closer pic of some I cant see any work done on them.

The other pics look like reduction flakes and a lot of them seem to be an effort to make articulated points like possibly dalton points? I have a lot of reduction like that in quartz and used to think I was finding "half arrowheads" because they were like a regular projectile point split down the middle. Then one day I rotated it a little and realized I was finding the bases of articulated dalton type points. Good stuff to get an idea how they went about making these tools.

Id like to see some in your own thread to compare to the ones I have, thanks

Here are some close ups of some of them.

Looks like you have found a good area. Where there are flakes there could be a camp. Looks like some secondary edge work also. The camera did good.

Yes it did. Looks like quite a score on a dog walk. Wish I found that. Good luck on the new spot.

Rock, let me get some out and take some decent pics. It will be good to bounce some of this reduction material off of some more experienced people. It is really hard to tell when it is quartz, but when you keep finding the same shapes, and they are around a whole lot of quartz crystals, I'm not sure it could be anything else.

Don't think the glass is an artifact, it would look like more what gator boy posted. That glass looks too new and doesn't looked like it was pressure flaked. All your other rocks look like the real deal.

As far as indians knapping arrowheads out of glass, they did. Ishi made them out of insulators.

Gatorboy where did you get that glass? Looks like good knapping material.

I got off early from work today and made it back out there.

WOW those "rocks". Yep I was wrong but those pictures are much better. You got some good tools. I am going to show you a pic of 2 quartz scrapers the same shape found in the same place months apart. You tell me what you think.
