Gave the silver gods another break today. They rewarded me with a new car, a Ferrari Enzo . They also gave 2.79 for gas, and told me to git to church lickity split! Oh, and they also gave me a house key, but I haven't found my mansion yet :(. The cross is NOT magnetic and I can see with my 10X loupe that there is copper under the shiny stuff. I walked the park for about 1- 1/2 miles today. I will give Ms. Lola a day of rest tomorrow and will not be hunting, I gotta give the lil doggie a haircut ::) what fun that always is :tard:........NGE

If you don't get lucky enough to find silver...a Ferrari helps to heal the wound somewhat
At least you're huntin' NGE. I was stuck at work today.

Nice finds! id take Ferrari any day lol

just love your choice of words, as always, Plehbah . The cross was a surprise, it rang in as silver, but was only 6 inches deep. I am not going out tomorrow. Need to take a break and regroup ;D. There is a bunch of us planning an attack on a really old park, that was once occupied by the french in the 1700's, then a bunch of snakes, then hogs. the name of the park is Belle Isle in Detroit. Many nice coins and other artifacts have been taken from this park in years past. Heck, in 1989 I dug a beautiful 1876-S seated quarter from 11 1/2 inches deep, it was in A.U. condition. I sold it to a friend a about 12 years ago for 285.00 to help pay for the purchase of my Fisher 1266-X. The Cobalt blue Hutchinson bottle that I posted on my best finds came from the woods at this park. there have been a couple cap & ball pistols found there, I got a tool for fixing a musket there, looks like a "Spam can " key. Some really nice seated halves have come from there also, lots of I.H.'s, "V" nickels, shield nickels. Also when they dredged the canals about 20 years ago, I was there muckin' thru the goodies. Found an old style billfold, the type that would not fit in you back pocket, it was kept inside pocket of jacket, it had 2 one dollar " horse blankets" in it, and a barber half. The only thing more dangerous than the hogs that used to inhabit the Island years ago, are the scum that inhabit it now. That's why you have to go in groups and leave before dark, that's when the natives get restless........NGE

Wierd looking cross. Looks like screw heads were added onto it. I'm sure your silver drought won't last too long either. :D
