Gilted Whatzit

I found this yesterday and had soaked it over night. When I dried it off today I noticed it had a little gold scattered over the surface. It's very heavy for its size, which is a little smaller than a quarter. It has a green tint to it which makes me beleive it is probably made of brass. It has two small round indentations on the top rim that gives the appearance that something may have broken off of it. It has a very sharp point on the top and the base of it is hollow. I don't think its gilt. From what I can see, its brass (as you say) with oxidation. The true colour of the metal is showing as shiny under the patina.

No idea what the Brass item is, just adding my thoughts.

Its gilt. Some came off in the container it was soaking in, and I also scrapped some off to see what it was.

OK, maybe the photo, It looked to be under not over the oxidisation
