Here is a cufflink that was gilded. The gilt seems mostly gone on the front but a lot of it remains on the back piece. There are two interlocked diamonds on the back that I presume are a makers mark. The post on the front-piece is triangular shaped. Any idea as to the age, maker, etc.?
Length of front-piece: 3/4", width of front-piece: 3/8", length of back-piece: 9/16", width of back-piece: 7/16".
[Update: I just started cleaning it lightly with a toothpick at the makers mark and it looks like there may be a "C" in the left diamond.]
