Happy Birthday Max!

That makes me think the price would / should be real 'High". Crossing the Pacific twice + all the processing & packaging .
Hmmmm???

Oh that works! As long Asian workers gets one Cent a day and a slap in the neck as a payment :laughing7:

Remember the Luftwaffe helmet I refurbished earlier?

This is it now.

I made a thin whitewash to "Winterize" the helmet, and then applied powdered pastels to it to simulate staining and yellowing over time. Then I sealed it in matte varnish, then scratched the heck out of it by throwing it in my foxhole, setting it down on concrete, dropping it in gravel, crashing through brush, etc. Then I aged the liner a bit by applying WD-40 to the leather (believe it or not, WD-40 Is good for leather! It softens it.), then rubbing shoe polish on the front part to simulate sweat. Then I added a name (Heinrich Fritz)*, and "his" Unit, the 37th Motorized Flak regiment. The 37th were Anti Aircraft soldiers with 88mm Flak guns. During the final winter battles of Stalingrad, the 37th destroyed over 100 Soviet tanks with their guns pointed at the enemy and firing, instead of being AA Guns.

Over all, I'm pretty happy with the end result. My next project should be really fun!

My “good” finds tonight. Part of a curtain rod and a sterling plated butter knife.

A question popped into my mind from looking att the picture of the open sea chests. Reality hit what would one of these suckers weigh?
So just for a giggle I did a Google and:
A smallish chest (interior 10 inch by 5 inch by 5 inch) at 50% packing density comes to about 100 lbs of gold.
A large chest (30 inches by 20 inches by 20 inches interior) comes to about 2.5 tonnes of gold.
Advice: store gold in small chests.
