Now I'm trying to figure out how to keep this herd of deer out of the garden. I could go the 308 route but hate to.
Here I plant stuff for deer on my hunting property....
Very few ever visit my yard around the house.
Rabbits and other varmints do though.
I'm going to try growing some tobacco.
Deer are supposed to avoid areas it is in.
A neighbor down the road has a deer crossing , and plants marigolds around the edges. Seems to keep deer and rabbits from getting too interested in the garden.
Here soon and into June doe should be establishing small territories to drop fawns.
Till they get on their feet good and can follow momma well , the deer are broke up.
Bucks will be in a bachelor group and seem to avoid cranky doe areas.
Last years buck fawns ,and any unbred doe fawns from last year will be wandering around awhile. Some just far enough away from cranky momma that she won't harass them. Some get bounced by another angry momma nearby.... Them's the ones that can get into gardens for sure.
You could rotate dirty socks out there and see if deer avoid the area...L.o.l..
