For your enjoyment............Dixie

Racist.. KKK.. neo-nazism.. slavery.. hate!?

What about the 250,000 men who gave their lives for what they believed was right?

Keep it flying!

What many DON'T KNOW was that the civil war was NOT about slavery but industrialization. Many believe that only the South had slaves, but the North had slaves as well but you never hear anytyhing about that!!

This is wrong with society, no one pays real attention to what the history really WAS ABOUT!

It was Napolen that said, " I can make a man die for a piece of cloth". Living on the border, I laugh as the Mexicans call us all Yankees. lol.

No disrespect to the confederate soldiers, but they were defeated. The U.S. flag must fly above any other flag on our soil, simple as that.

Well I don't think the police have a right to
tell the News to hold back info, & the News doesn't have that right either.

The Confederate flag will be raised at 10:00 a.m.
Chesterfield police asked NBC12 not to share the exact location
of the flag pole because the event is on private property.

When US flag is on same pole as confederate flag it should always be higher.

Really? I mean all the history books, even the people who run Gettysburg National Park all say the same thing. Slavery and cotton were the contributing factors along with the south wanting to make their own laws. Guess I better go back to school and re-learn! I really don't care if they fly that flag or not! Its the flags of OTHER COUNTRIES that bother me more. When I see people flying other flags other than our OWN! I say to them, "Well, if its so great to fly that flag in my country, then MOVE BACK!!!"

First thing I think of is police beating on people that put it up and maybe shoot their dogs.

Well I hope we don't get too political. I like the confederate flag; I got one. It's a reminder. That was a rich man's war according to my family. My ancestor's 'fought' for the south. They came and 'recruited' one of my grandpas and some of my uncles one day for the 37th Arkansas Infantry. Just took em right there. My family were mostly sharecroppers and barely had a pot to p*ss in, plus we were mixed blood. It wasn't our war but it was kinda like you're goin. Bring your own gun. After that Pea Ridge thing him and a bunch of others cut a trail. I got no problem with the stars and bars. It reminds me of how bad things could get, and Lynyrd Skynyrd.

"mud sills" never owned slaves, and still fought for what they believed in. Including my family.

Slavery existed for 80+ years under the USA flag and only 5 years under the CSA flag. The War was about states rights verses the rights of the Federal government. Many of the soldiers who fought for the South did not own slaves, but served because the South was invaded, and were defending their country. As one captured Confederate said when asked why he was fighting,"Because you are here".

The average soldier fighting for the South were poor and owned no slaves, they fought for their land, their homes, their families and their way of life. They did not believe the Federal Government had the right to dictate to them how to live.

They fought, suffered and died with honor for a worthy cause, their homes and their way of life and we in the South will always honor them.
