The GF and I went to some private property with a creek in Georgia today that had a homestead in the 1820s. We were using our sieves to look for artifacts and were beginning to move some of the stones out of the way when she turns to me with this in both hands, “Is this flint?” I about fainted. I had to explain in the simplest terms that she had just found the gem of gems. She had no idea it was even a point, let alone the biggest and best freaking point she’d ever find [emoji23][emoji23] Needless to say, we’ve been freaking out all night. It measures 6.5”x2.75” and weighs probably 1.5-2 pounds. She loves looking for this kind of stuff as much as any of us, and it was truly a special, once in a lifetime moment, to be with her when she found it.
