Getting a V3i and an SEF coil to look for Gold cache

how do i get filter and recovery to my live menu. I still don't know

That deep, it depends on how big it is. I would check out the Whites 808, it is a 2 box detector specifically designed for cache hunting.

Only issue with the 2 box is he is gonna b digging everything with out being able to get all those bad a#s screens & programs with the v3i & after its found then what now u got that 2,box how many times u gonna have a need for it with just gettin a coil ur done pop it off. Its obviosly not as deep but the size he is looking at who knows a pass dig then another pass found who

Knows how deep it really is

The V3i no matter what coil is Not going to come even close to those depths. You need either a 2 box cache hunting metal detector or get a PI detector and build your own large coil. Ever seen that show "Meteorite Men"? I think there might be some episodes on YouTube. The equipment they built and use for searching for large, deep meteors is the same type of setup you deep to get that type of depth. PI's are very forgiving also...it is fairly easy to make a simple drag coil. Thing with PI though is not discrimination...have to dig everything. VLF simply will not go that deep.

Im pretty sure we could all agree that yes the v3i has a tremendous amount of capabilities & options but ur right it isnt going to go thst deep woth the 15x18" coil u would need a 2 box unless u had the general área dug down a foot acabes if nothing then another foot so on till u got thst hit u were looking for to me if it were me i would buy the v3i & attempt what the plan was with the v3i cuz it was said its one treasure so once ur done with that u can pop on another coil do what ever u want in detecting ,now Ud b more limited with the 2 box its not ur really go to or want it to b ur go to machine

I would buy the V3i for general detecting, great machine...very advanced. Then look into a used, cheap PI machine and build yourself a 3'x3' or 4'x4' pvc dragging coil. Research is your best tool to narrow down where this cache may be.

I still think with some tweaking I can get the 18x15 SEF butterfly coil to reach over 3 feet. Because the stock d2 coil can pick up an 8"x12" can at over 2 feet air test, with adjustments to the machine it should find it if it is in the area i think it's in. In fact, I will bet the SEF coil will pick up the same can at least 4 feet air test.

Hey ya know thats a huge coil & we all know the v3i if any machine with options & tweeking power this would be the one hands down ur not goin to be able to get any other machine adjust as much as the v3i & its literaly the only one that actually uses 3 frequencies at the same time other multi frequency machines take the best one on its target & sends it through for its info not the v u get 3. Im very intrested in following this thread in finding out how it all comes out for u. I also would say along with studing the manual to know what the machine is doin & telling u, u read: v3i's Advanced posts book im telling u its an absolute must read if ur a v3i owner u will find this book makes alot of sense my thoughts, it should have been the manual. Anyways I hope the best for u in ur search good luck & happy hinting

Oopps happy hunting I meant to say lol

I just sold my V3i last night. I'm sure I will regret that decision in the future.

I'm sure u will lol I couldn't get rid on mine out of the 3 I have my v3i got the sunray & 4 extra coils there's just so many options u can do with the v3i ur limited with other machines soon ull get through the options but on the v I dought ull get through. I wantd to do some comparisons between deus & v3i & even the Atpro but each have something over another that tops each makes them all great & the perfect arsenal. U r gonna have lots of fin with the dues though holding the dues over the v is remarkable in weight difference & other things

Just got my 18x15 SEF for the V3i. I wouldn't recommend this coil for your normal coin and jewelry mode. However, after talking with White's who are extremely helpful said using the prospecting mode will really bring out the power of this coil. You may have to do some tweaking but I am fairly confident that I will be able to located a large cache over 3 feet. also I might experiment with the pro and hi pro modes as well. I do want to get the 15x12 SEF V rated coil for normal hunting. This large coil I got is very light I was surprised. There are so many adjustments to this machine that if you can eventually understand how every works together you can really adjust it to work best at what you are expecting to look for like CACHES! It also helps to know how and where people back then tended to hid things brings your chances of finding something up there. I like old-maps.com for the new England area. It has maps with names associated with houses from the 1800's. they are rough maps but if the building was still there in the early 1900's you can then go to NETR Online • Historic Aerials and look at the early topographical maps which have black squares that represent houses. Then switch to an aerial view to precisely located where a building once stood. Sometime's there will be an offset between the topo map and aerial photos. you can calculate the offset by comparing something that is still there today like a building or road landmark. I have found many sites this way that have no visual clues to where a very old house once stood or even may be all grown up and in the woods.

Nice its a big one huh lol for what I mainly do my 2 sefs r perfect good luck with urs also to get the closest best settings since its not a whites coil by whites when u pick coil type in ur settings pick the biggest one which I believe is the super 12, always when switching coils put it on the one ur using or in the terms of the sef put it on the closest coil size u can get it to. The only things that will b off will b depth #'s, but hit ur pinpoint button & u should get the correct depth, o also use polor plot to help with the deep targets just alittle more info is all

Something like this might help: 3footdrill.jpg

I have several tools to search for caches. Detectors are about worthless till you find the caches lol. If you know pretty much the area you need to search, detectors are definitely the way to go.
