I want to share with everyone something I have found beneficial in my own pursuits here in Georgia. The Georgia Archives contain many historical maps of counties in Georgia. These maps vary in type and not all counties have the same type maps. Pay special attention to early soil maps if they are available for your county as these maps contain roads and symbols that denote the specific locations of residences, churches, schools and other information you may find useful. Click on the link below and type in the name of your county and maps (county name maps) in the advanced search to see what is available.
