geo examiner

I have seen in internet a geophysics system called geo examiner from Icon,this uses a metal detector, one magnetometer and one resistivity system, but I do not know how it works, because the resistivity has not a generator. Somebody know how it works ?. I understand magnetometer and metal detector, but resistivity ?. Thanks.
