Hey, I asked this in General Discussion, but I haven't gotten any answers.

I'm looking to get a pinpointer to go with my AT Pro... but I can't afford the hefty $150 cost for the Garrett version that I like.

So: does anyone out there use Fisher's F-Point model? How's it handle? Does it find everything? Is it comparable to the Garrett ProPointer? Would like to get opinions from people who actually USE it or have used it.

Thanks

Yea my Fischer pinpointer sits in a box and is only taken out when it's used as a loaner for my friends that I take out MDing who don't have any equipment.
It's true about the Fischer it only starts to vibrate and beep when it's an inch or less away from the target. Which makes finding a target a much longer project. The Garrett will find targets at least twice as fast if not 3 times faster. The Harbour Freight one is just as good as the Fischer except its not as durable and it only costs around $15 compared to $60 for the Fischer.
I guarantee if you save and get the Garrett you won't be disappointed!
By the way call one of the forum vendors and tell them you are a forum member and I bet you can get a better price.
I go with Bart from Big Boys Hobbies tel:405-206-9010 he has always treated me right.

But don't rely on my word alone.
Just do a search on YouTube. There are plenty of people that have done comparison videos.

I got the fisher free w/ purchase of teknetics md the metal object has to pretty much right in front of it!! Save your money for a Garrett or a minelab pointer, you won't be disappointed.

I use the Garrett pro pointer, I've been metal detecting for 20+ years Without a pin pointer. I bought the Garrett pro pointer last summer, And wow what a difference in recovery speed, I know I left some good targets behind because I just gave up after time. Now, I don't know how detected without it. Try Bart at big boys hobbies. I bought my AT pro from him, and got a great deal on it. maybe he has a special going or just can give you a good price. The pro pointer is the one to get.

I have used the Harbor Freight, the Fisher and the Garrett. The Garrett is the absolute best. I personally would not purchase anything else. Save your finds until you can purchase one.
