Garrett 300

I have been hooked on this site for months now, today I make my first post. I was just given an old Garrett Ace 300 and would like to pick your brains about it. Are there interchangeable coils for it, it has a Crossfire II. I downloaded the manual for it but some things are not clear to me yet. Does anyone have some tips for me. I am used to a Bounty Hunter but would like to get more experience with other brands and types of machines....so wish I could rent various ones for a week or so. What a great way to comparison shop. Anyway I would love to hear from anyone that has used or is familiar with the 300.

It has been a long time since I used the 300. It isn't as bad as many think, but the new ACE 250 has it beat I think. Coils are available for this machine still. Lay some targets on the ground and see where they drop out with disc. and set it lower to recover them.

Renting would be a good way to go except the cost is high and the detectors you would get to rent are not usually good ones as the dealer doesn't want to lose a detector he can sell as used.

Maybe someone that remembers the 300 better will respond for you.
