Garrett GTI2500
I have been MD'ing with my 2500 and for a while I thought the dang thing was just flat a peice of junk. It wasn't until I truly learned the machine and how to use it or better yet understand what it was telling me that I figured it was spot on! I have had the luxury of using a buddy of mine White's Spectra V3 and while its a great machine, when I get my 25-- back in hand I really have a much more confidence in searching. Don't get me wrong the V3 has some awesome features but for the simplicity of the 2500, the cost and the results I 'm getting, In my experience Garrett has built an incredibe machine. Cant imagine them making it better.

I've read a lot of forums where folks have been dissapointed but the best advice I have read and also agree is to use your machine and learn how to use it!

So, any of you 2500 users out there have anything to add that my allow some others researching to buy a 2500 make a confident decision to buy?

Confidence in your detector is one of the most important factors in how much you are going to enjoy using your machine. The 2500 is a fine detector with lots of accessory coils and easy to use.

Now if Garrett made a waterproof non Pulse water machine, I'd get one!

you can't go wrong with the gti2500 don't care what people say about it... if you don't take the
time and try all the different modes it has you have not used it long enough to say anything...
it took me almost a year to learn the gti2500 going from the beach to the high mineral ground in Arizona to know what the machine was telling me :read2:

I love my GTI2500 especially the size indicator.
My one gripe, and it's a biggie to me:
Please give us at least four ID tones. The machine changes indicators before my one good eye can focus on the display. I sent e-mail to Garrett over a week ago and they didn't seem to care.
(unusual for Garrett)

Hi fellow

The GTI2500 is a great machine. I fixed it in 2003 when I was in AZ american airline crew broke it, they never made attempt to pay so I repaired it by myself. I have to admit the GTI's body is weak but the system to detect is the best.

My 1500 is loose like your 2500 i think i might send it in. I thought it was just mine that had that problem. It started when i push the pinpoint the display body would go forward and i pull it back by hand. Every time i push the pinpoint it goes forward on me.

When i have a problem and if i email Garrett they get back to me. But when i emailed them about the how the lower shaft would wobble and shake on me i never heard from them.So i called them and they sent me a new design lower shaft at no charge. And they paid the postage.
