Detector(s) used
Garrett GTP 1350 / Cobra Beach Magnet / Garrett Treasure Ace 300
Just got the Garrett GTP 1350 in the mail today.... Hooked it all together (batteries came with it). When turning it on , it will come on but the menu will not come up on the screen..... We think there may be a short somewhere?

Anyone out there using this same machine ? Please help !

I've had the GTP 1350 for about a year-and-a-half now.

---First of all did you buy your GTP 1350 new or used??

Without going out to my garage to see my detector, when you hit the
MENU button I think the screen goes blank with the exception of the five
modes on the left side of the screen: COINS, JEWELRY, RELICS,
ZERO, or CUSTOM.

Hit the MENU button again and the SENSITIVITY setting then shows on the
screen.........

If none of this is working I would pull the batteries and make absolutely sure
that the eight batteries were placed in their brackets correctly (+'s and -'s in
the correct position). Then place the brackets back in and make sure the
RIVETS on the brackets are facing closest to the center. Turn the POWER
ON and wait a couple seconds.......now hold the POWER button 10 seconds
or until the detector beeps twice to 'reboot' the detector.

After you turn it back on and if it still isn't working then I would send it in for
repair.

Thank you for the reply.... We have done it all.... I believe it may be a manufacture defect ... We bought it new...

Thanks again !

If you had it shipped to you from a dealer I am sorry cause many don't test them before they ship them out. It is a giant pain I know to do this but the only way for the customer to get a detector that works. This is why I stress people should visit the dealer to buy their electronic item as it can then be carried home with you and ya don't have to worry about UPS tossing the box around. They are only liable for lost packages. I know I had to sue them to get them to make good on a package they said they delivered to my home. Trouble was it wasn't my signature.
