Garret pro pinpointer issue

Hi all.


Can someone tell me what could be wrong with my pinpointer. It beeps, but doesn't stop beeping after a contact. Not the battery

mine did that the second week i had it. I had to send it back to Garrett and they fixed it. Sucked being without it!

That dont sound good may have to send it in im ready well hoping it doesnt happen to me but got some back ups just in case

I just shut it off and turn it on Marko. Also, make sure you aren't laying it down next to metal - that will drive it crazy as well.

Thx for the responses. It's doesn't vibrate or sound off strongly anymore. But the biggest issue is the false signals it gives. Returning it back to garratt for repairs.

I was having the same problem . I had to unscrew that little screw by the battery and bend the negative contact. It pretty much fix it, still messes with me every once in awhile.

Did you call Garrett before to start a work order and if so did they say that was a known prob? Mine started chirping randomly even after no metal contact also. I turn mine off and back on as VPNavy says. It becomes a little irritating though. Mine also will sound off if the scraper is used as at all (applying any pressure to the tip). Anyone else?

I believe it's a known problem, there was a recall I believe. I called them and they just said to return it for repairs. No online troubleshooting. I have yet to send it to them though

Is the random chirping the problem or is my pressure chirping the known prob? Thanks.

Lol u guys having these issues just made me buy a spare propointer just in case I ever do have to send mine in, I dont wanna b without one

I turn it off between digs and definitely between hunts. I may buy a spare as well.

There were times where it would false with pressure and times where it just wouldn't stop beeping after a legit target. Then the issue seemed to be more sporadic for some unknown reason but it doesn't vibrate as strong as it once did nor is it as loud as it was before. I'm going to get a spare as well

Hey u never know what's gonna happen nothing wrong with a spare we all like to have the pinpointer just hate to b without one if it came down to it deals r out there

I like my propointer a great deal but I have had to send both mine and my wife's in for repairs. So I think if I am gonna need a spare I will get the profind 25 or wait for the new whites that was supposed to come out last winter.

Calling Garrett is on today's agenda. Has the experience for most that they are responsive to the repair or replacement of the equipment?

I sent the PP back after calling Garrett and getting it in their system. They said they have had a few come in for repairs that needed fixed and others that had alleged problems they couldn't duplicate. Hats off to Garrett though on customer service. I'll let everyone know what they find out.
