I've got one. I'm a big fan of the Garmins. I used an eTrex, upgraded to the eTrex Legend, and now currently use a GPSMap60CSx. The legend is great in that it has built in base maps, and you can download detailed maps into it using Mapsource. It has WAAS, so it's pretty accurate, if better than +-20ft is desired. The screen is pretty easy to see, even in sunlight. It also has a backlight which makes the screen easy to see at night. It's waterproof (except the battery case) and can handle being dropped repeatedly (I know from experience). I've put 10's of thousands of miles on mine, and the only thing wrong is the rubber gasket around the edge of the device is starting to come loose, but that's just an aesthetic defect.

I would (and do to most people) recommend the Legend as a first GPS.
