Maybe the spoon is a salesman's sample (otherwise why say "sold in ...:" at all?). Albata was a white metal alloy of nickel, copper, and zinc. Rogers Brothers made flatware out of it, offering it in both silver plated and unplated varieties, in the 1860's.
