I checked into those. Was going to purchase one, but researched a little farther and found out they weren't made to go under water.

Stay Safe!

those are just dangerous toys, be safe and use just a normal snorkel and mask. Don't use anything with a floating ball and and a cage to keep water out they don't work. Have you ever taken a Skin Diving course? That's where you don't use a scuba tank. Before you scuba dive ya gotta need to learn to skin dive safely.

The Dead sea is loaded with Salt and you would need a lot of weight to achieve a weight just above neutral buoyancy.

I'm probably the first American to own one - no lie - Ive been following the original company since its development
and got one from Europe as soon as they went on the market (you could not get them here)
had mine I think 5 yrs now
False - they are not made to go under water - not true -
you can dive under with them - but do to the amount of space in them they have 2-3 times of air
than a regular mask which causes your head to float - so you have to dive hard and use extra effort to get to bottom and your head wants to come back up
so you could go down and get a fish pic but would not have the down time you would with regular style masks - I practiced in 8ft deep pool with it after getting it
you would not be able to dive down and fan targets - unless you wear a weight belt
False - dangerous toys
the original models were made so people afraid or the water or afraid of using a regular snorkel - could
the originals were kind of expensive for a mask - I saw them selling for around $150 - due to patent infringements
the chineese copied the design and starting making them cheaper and are now flooding the market - a lot
of Carribean resorts and snorkel trip operators now buy them instead of the old style - reason being so many people lose the
snorkels and you can buy these now for $40 or cheaper
I like to drop down to pick up small items that fall thru my scoop - I don't where a weight belt with mask and snorkel - only with hookah and
snuba
it is great when hunting in winter or cold waters - it keeps your face warm
it has more vision than normal masks
ideal for someone that has false teeth or no teeth
ideal because you can breathe thru nose - mouth or both
my GF is afraid of water and cant swim - she has panic attacks with regular style
got her one of these - the original one from Europe and she loves it
if you have children afraid to snorkel - they have kids size ones
YES your headphones should fit better with the snorkel being on top

got it in 2014

that being said - cant say it would be for you over there
me cold water hunting winter 2015

Got mine from France in 2015 - great piece of kit.

No problem with it fogging up?

use plenty of spit like you would a regular mask or use little dish liquid or what ever anyone uses as an anti fog
I just got in a few days ago - Quick spit - anti fog spray --hoping to try soon

No problem with it fogging up?

You look like a TeleTubby. The black TeleTubby...... :laughing7:
Just goofing...... :tongue3: :laughing7:

My vacation friends have those, but just got them, so I haven't had a chance to actually use or see the thing, yet.
I may just hafta breakdown and buy one, see how it works for dual purpose, tekkering and lobstering. :laughing7:

Do these or any other mask work on a hairy old guy with a full beard?

think it might be hard to use for lobstering - not much down time - unless you wear a weight belt

Thank you Casper for all the feedback. I got a "Sea View Dry" which has two sections keeping the mouth and eye areas apart. Looks like the one in your picture.
Will practice for a few weeks before our trip. Have no plans to dive deep, just shallow water and a Vibra-Tector, arms length to the bottom.
The Dead Sea has been dropping 5 feet a year, so hopefully finds will not be deep.
Would silicone grease around the edge help keep water out?
