Ew, the ring is creepy. Nice wheatie. I'm thinking the Pond's lid could be from around 1940's - 1950's. I remember my mother using the stuff when I was a little girl - I was born in 1950.

Silver is still out there. I found a silver dime the other day (oh, it's been two months already. how time flies) in the parking area of a county fairgrounds. I've had good luck finding silver at fairgrounds - despite the grounds being hit hard by other detectorists. Have you tried your county fairgrounds lately?

LOL...Not sure how old that ponds cap is...but it is similar to the one that I take off every night to help alllllll my wrinkles go away...btw..nice wheats and ring..HH and hope you find a lot more.

Do'nt give up, you will start digging silver soon.

Hello FD!
Thanks, the MD weekend has started out pretty good here in Colorado although it's been threatening rain all day. And, it's cool; in the fifties.

That skeleton ring is a "dead" ringer for my Uncle George!

Some of my best MD'ing was done back in the 80s with a Garrett Master Hunter. It was built like a tank and found a lot of good stuff for me. I didn't have the time then, as I do now to enjoy it however. Depth wise, I'm not so sure the SE is "that" much better. It certainly is more complicated however. I remember purchasing a 12 inch "hot head" coil for my Garrett that really found stuff deep. I still have it; the coil; not the Garrett. Some one stole Mr. G out of my car a long time ago.

Good Hunting!

Nice finds, FD. Love that ring.

Moving from the DFX to the SE did get me more depth! However, I have to swing the coil slower which has taken away from my over all coins found. I am digging deeper coins however, so mission accomplished ;D

I am thinking of buying a Ace 250 for clad hunts, because I actually miss coming home with 100+ clad coins in my pouch for a 3-4 hour hunt.

Just my 2 cents ;D

Cool pirate ring. Grats on finds.

Ahh, the old skull ring. Found one of those. Pretty cool.

Dry conditions are most challenging for depth. Our ground is very dry/hard right now also.

Hello FD!
After reading through the posts and someone mentioning their experience with the SE absolutely resulting in more depth, I thought I'd best inject a couple of facts. I'd added a DepthMaster enhancer to the Master Hunter and also used their depth enhancing headphones resulting if extreme depth. I commonly found quarters and dimes at ten inches or better. I absolutely loved the "bell tone" sound of that old Garrett. My luck of depth may have had something to do with type of soil also. I was in East Texas at the time and the ground was certainly much less mineralized than here in Colorado. The SE certainly is capable of doing as good or better right out of the box with the right adjustments and coil.
