Hey guys, today started out miserably cold but I Just had to get out, Ive only been out once this year so far and it did nothing for my itch for old coins/relics, so I headed out to my cornfield and it was cooooooold to start:
on my way up the thermometer went as low as 19 and I thought, I don't care im going anyway lol. Only was there 2 hrs and managed about 10-11 targets and I had to work for every one of them as the ground was frozen solid under those corn stalks, dug a few pieces of lead, a few small buttons, some square nails and then FINALLY, a nice high repeatable 90-91 on the atpro, turns out it was a 1848 large cent with pretty nice detail first LC of 2014!, it was about 4" down and I have no idea how I didn't hit it with my shovel considering I was pretty much scraping and chopping away at the ground to get it, anyhow, needless to say I was pretty pumped so I rushed to my car to get my cellphone to get a few shots of it fresh out of the ground, after that I had a nice high tone 88-91 and I tried to live dig it and it ended up being a junky piece of ironoh well maybe next time I can live dig a nice target, thanks for looking and HH!!
