Hey all,

Today officially began my spring break, and as soon as I got home from track practice I to my MD out to my front yard. Was out there for about 45 minutes, mostly finding nails plus one beer can, when I got a HUGE hit. I started digging, maybe 4 inches down, and when I brought the shovel up, I also brought up a huge chunk of the ground, which had the head of a rake sticking out of it! After that I went inside, then took my brother (2 years younger than me) out to the front yard with me. He found a NO CASH VALUE token within the first five minutes. Jealousy.... I then found a penny, and then we had no beeps for about 15 minutes and went back inside. Overall what I would consider a successful day.

**Note: the Lego minifigure is a sort of trademark of mine, I'll have it in pictures to prove the finds are mine**

Congratulations8-) Very nice pictures:icon_thumright:

Welcome to t-net! :hello: You & your brother have made a cool start toward wonderful future finds! Love the Lego guy & that rake is a hoot! Always wonder how people manage to "lose" those large items like the rake. Biggest thing my son detected so far was a refrigerator, but we didn't dig it up. My largest find was also left underground at a California beach - following up on a huge signal that I usually ignore at our iron-infested beach, I'd already dug a big hole about three feet deep when a couple from Australia walked by and shared laughs with me, all figuring maybe it was an old anchor and wondering if I'd have to dig all the way from California to Australia to get it up. HAVE FUN! Andi

Andi again! Just a note of caution: watch for underground electric power cables when you detect, such as those for street and park lights, just avoid those areas.

We just had the yard dug up because an underground water pipe had a crack in it. All the lines for where the pipes are located are still visible, so we were staying away from those areas.

Someone liked raking so much, they left it in the yard to rot.:)Nice finds.
