Yesterday, I was doing work at a mine in New Mexico. The mine lost outside phone connection and just after mid-day, the call was made to bring all the guys up as it looked like a phone line was cut miles away, cells quit working also. With that, me and 60 other miners did a "High Ball" and scrambled-out-there! Its just not safe with no contact to the outside in the event of an emergency.

I headed back home up through central Colorado and did a bit of goofin around, as I had the time on the trip home. Took a few shots as I passed the town of San Luis Colo, Fort Garland, Colo. once under the command of Kit Carson as the flag was at half mast to morn those killed in the deadly shooting at the Washington Navy Yard, Took shots of the Great Sand Dunes in the San Luis Valley, Mt Princeton in the Arkansas Valley. I last took a side track to the east mountain range of Leadville, Colo. up in the old mining district to get a shot of the first snow I see dusting the mountain top for the year. Fall is here!:hello2:

Cool pics. I've always liked the San Luis Valley area. I used to go out east of Leadville and detect the tailings, but last year I noticed a lot of 'Keep Out' signs up and haven't made it back out there this year. Did you get a new camera?

I'm sorry RGINN, I didn't catch your question, these pic's were taken with an old Kodak Z650 6.1 meg I dug back out. I don't have a really good camera yet, but will someday, just need to bust out the money and get it. I did pick up at Target 2 years ago this little Canon Power Shot A1200 as I like a camera with a eye an sight and Its a nice little pack around camera. This little Canon I got on sale and it has very little use, but it now has a dark spot in the pic's and and its not on the front of the lenz or behind it? This spot will focus in out when you zoom out and focus in when you zoom back. Its like a piece of dirt in it somewhere?. The old Kodak Z650 that took these pic's, may be 8, 9 years old now and its all beat up even has a small scratch on the lenz, but its just a good old beater and I've learned to handle the function well with it. This old Kodak sure paid for itself with all the eBay sell items it photographed. I still like using it for that and it does a decent job in the field. I need to see whats up with this little Canon A1200 and that blurry spot it has. I've also have a Canon SX120 I got from my daughter and I've never tried out, as I got her a new Canon Rebel XS SLR for her birthday maybe two years ago now?. Thanks for the nice comment and you keep your fire burning as it is getting that time of the year.
