This piece appears to have the heft I would expect for real but, I just don't know guns. Let alone pieces of one.

Appears to had been painted black at one time. Square hole? pretty fair size as you can see from the ruler.

Weighs in at about 36 grams but it's not magnetic. Do they make guns out of non-magnetic metals? :dontknow:

That is from a toy, Real percussion hammers had a hole that hit over the cap not a flat area.

That's what I expected.

Regardless though, any real gun hammer would be magnetic wouldn't it, at least the early ones?
