Yesterday we took some of our finds to the local FLO… it was super exciting and we got some of our previous finds back with ids, will do them in a separate post. But it meant we got an afternoon to play in the fields.

chuffed to bits with this first find, I know it doesn’t look much but it’s my first pilgrims ampulla, bit battered, but I love it! Then we have a fancy spindle whorl, 2 musket balls, then a unknown, end of a spoon, and ring, buttons, then a super cool 1789 Macclesfield Half Penny token, a 1918 penny, and 2 George 3rd farthings. Himself found a Roman, but not sure on ID.

Tomorrow we are off to see friends who live on the site of a Roman village, am taking my machine in case they want to give their garden “make over” 😂 xx

Amazing finds as always, I swear if I didn't love detecting so much all I'd do is just look at your finds all day

@Almy and @ModernMiner , ah thank you both, I only have my iPhone 13Pro camera and for the finds a light box from Amazon! I love to try to capture what we see when out in the field as well as what we find. We are just very lucky to live in the part of the world we do xx

Congratulations on your pilgrims ampulla blossom. :headbang:
A rarer recovery for sure.
The 1789 Macclesfield is a keeper as well.
Sure looks like there's plenty of gold still on the bar button.
Will have to let us know when himself has ID his Roman, good detail on it still, well done.
So a great little hunt of filling some wants.
Looking forward to your review from the Flo.
Ah thanks Peps!
He thinks his Roman is Trajanus, 98-117 AD bronze as…… xx

Thanks so much. Now I know what I want for Christmas. A light box and an Apple 13 pro with a macro camera. I used to have a Motorola Droid with a macro camera, but ended up "upgrading" to an Apple phone. Didn't realize it had no macro. :violent1: Your photos are top notch.
Cheers,
MM

ModernMiner, Try the magnifier app on the iPhone. Mine is accessible by triple clicking the power button. It does a decent job focusing. You can get some good close up photos.

Love love love your recoveries! I miss England. Thank you for your posts. They are most enjoyable!

Thanks, Blossom, for the link to the Basset Hound pawty! Warms my heart with great affection for the beautiful breed! I have had Basset Hounds since 1990... can't live without them now!

Ahh no worries Xx I adore them, I’ve had 3, my first was called Blossom 😆… but now I’m bassetless, 😞. hence I have to get my fix by hosting the Pawty and infiltrating the local monthly waddles 😆 xx
