Returned to where I found a CT copper last Sunday. Found some circular metal objects but alas, no more colonial coins. For now anyway. Several acre debris field. Found quite a few nice large rose spikes, a broken iron stirrup, and three horse shoes. Strange buckle. This area has a real mix of colonial thru mid-1900's farm stuff.

Is that a buckle for sure? It almost looks like it might be the backing of some sort of badge. turn it 90 degrees so the pins are pointing down then flip it over. I can see some detailing that probably wouldn't be on a double hinge buckle that small. I dunno.

Sounds like a fascinating area to search! Have you found any other interesting artifacts in the past? It's always exciting to uncover items that offer a glimpse into the past.

SItes like that, where any find could be a few to hundreds years old are the best- you just truly never know what's coming up next- GL going forward!
