On Thursday I noticed Milo & Mia staring intently at something outside the patio window.

They were so locked in that I investigated and saw a mockingbird carrying twigs into a hibiscus and I could just make out the beginnings of a nest.

Same thing happening next day, with some progress.

So I gave it a couple of days then today I noticed the mockingbird kind of standing guard.

So I eased in and found these special made for Easter Sunday eggs.

Another update on the Easter egg story. As of yesterday:

Doubt there will be more eggs, but who knows. Once the male starts to sit on them it will take 12-14 days to hatch. We'll avoid the area for a while to make sure they don't abandon the nest. As they say on the news 'this is a developing story'.

Great to see. Be careful as you say I was taking pictures of wattle bird doing the same thing a few months ago. After it layed its eggs my final picture was the last straw. It saw me and never came back. 🙁
