Found this in an old dry creek bed on my property while cleaning out debris.
Is was partially buried, at first I thought it was some old core sample or clay. A bit weighty for its size.. maybe iron in there. It’s odd hoof shape had me wondering if it was an old hand tool.
Any ideas? Maybe just a cool old rock 😎 i appreciate the help.

it is just a cool rock. Keep looking. Relics will only be found if you look. You might want to check out the "North American Indian Relics" forum on Tnet to get a better idea of what to look for.

Sorry, nothing in pictures shows signs of being worked by man, better luck next time.

It is unusual in its shape, but I agree that it doesnt show the signs of being worked, or being a tool.

I'm not so sure it's not an artifact. Dead flat on the bottom, cupped on the top. It looks like it could be a small anvil. Gary

If it is natural it sure is unique.I can't say either way.

Thank you for the replies and welcomes
It just didn’t seem like a regular rock given the shape but it has found a home as my new front door stop for those breezy days :)

Went out for a couple hours with the detector and found a pile of old nails, a piece of muffler pipe (what a weird signal that was lol) a piece of copper tube, a 16 penny nail plus a scattered pile of other crusty nails, a pinecone weight from a coco clock, 3 old window sach weights. See what tomorrow brings! -Dawn

Welcome back Dawn! :hello:
As Steve already suggested, maybe re-post in this forum... North American Indian Artifacts that way you'll know for sure what you've got.

We've all heard stories about how some "door stops" turn out to be valuable meteorites or Native American artifacts. :laughing7:
