:) Hi, any experienced relic hunters out there care to agree or disagree with this little unit being part of a case or sheath thingy for an old sword maybe? ??? I'm stumped. I usually coinshoot. ??? Anyone? ;D

That's an unfortunately accurate ID. Ontario appears to have been a popular destination for that model. Dang, I was rooting for something more exciting.

Yea... but man what an exact reply! It's not to often you get a picture of the exact same thing here... especially with a piece like that. Thats an awesome ID Daisy... great work.

:) Wow Daisy, excellent ID job there! :) Thanx for being so observant. It's nice to see another poster in here from all the way up in Ontario too! :) How old would your sword be then Daisy? I'm thinking that the color (weathered patina) of my piece indicates that it had been in the ground for I'd say 30-50 years or so. So if whoever made your sword, was making them 40 or 50 years ago, that could explain that then. If your sword was made say only ten years ago by a new company perhaps, then the age factor of my piece is still somewhat of a mystery.

Thanx again for all the diggin' folks. :)

Well Larry, I can tell you it's at least three years old (that's how long the owner has been overseas). But not more than ten. Of course I could be wrong but I've seen hundreds of swords and this one is a newer replica and not a very good one at that. I hate touching it since it could easily fall apart (due to cheap construction not age). Again sorry to disappoint. :-\

larrybass, not to worry. I have that happen to me all the time, a word just on the tip of my tongue and just can't spit it out. I think that's called a senior moment! :D Maybe if that sword in the picture is a repro, it has to be a repro of a real one , so yours might be the real McCoy! You can say it is and I won't dispute it.....now what was I talking about? ;D There I go again! Monty
