green and lumpy, I'd say either gum or turquoise but I'm no gemologist.

Agreed.. Tourquoise and yes it can be found on the beach.. matter of fact here in and around MD mainly east of ehre near Del and NJ.. you cna spot brownish stones which appera to be caramel.. thus the name Caramel Jasper.

Thou I feel its this sample could have fallen out of someones jewelry while visiting the beach.
