I am wondering how it would look with minor cleaning and bending back those edges if there was anything to bend back. Either way if the gentleman who retored this piece used that same item and didn't make a new one that is amazing. I just want to know if he added more metal to the piece and how did he do it. Mad skills

I must say this. It does not matter in the least want anyone thinks of this piece. This person dug it and had it restored. So what its in their display not anyone elses. So WHO cares? its his/hers in their display to call it what THEY want. They are simply showing a great restoration here. Not once did they mention selling, so WTF? Restoration/Cleaning is truly an art. For those of us who dont have the know how, I see nothing wrong with seeking help. Your piece looks Truly amazing and will display well and congrats to you on the find!
