it is flat and thin if you turn it sideways and is about as long and wide as your pinky finger. I checked and Dalbo is actually 11 miles from Princeton.

No zip code could mean that it was pre-1964. I have no idea if they put zips on dog collar tags. It doesn't quite look like a dog tag, though. I wonder what it was off of.

Thanks for the info, it sounds right, I looked but couldn't find anything, 1994 (when he died) was 13 years ago, I have lived here for 4 years, my cousin Heidi who I got the house from lived here for 4 years and my other cousin Craig who Heidi bought the house from lived here for 4 years that is 12 years that I know who lived here, I should ask Craig who he got the house from. So what is the thing a tag off a hospital bed or something? I figured it must be old cause I don't think they have RR and box numbers anymore, I know my parents had to change the numbers on their address cause the post office changed something.

my dad actually bought the house, I live here and pay him rent, he has all the papers and dos'nt see the point of getting them for me to look at so I am gona have to do my own research as to the history of the house.

I looked up the name Moody in the phone book, there were 5 that live here in Princeton, the first one I called I talked to a lady named Ruth who said the name on the tag Nahum Moody was her husbands cousin, I told her where I live and she asked me if the house I live in is a blue 2 story house and I told her it was and she said she thinks this is where he lived after he moved from Dalbo, she asked me for my name and phone number incase she finds out anything else, when I told her my name she asked if I knew a Clifford and I told her that he is my dad, it turns out my parents sold her grandson some land to build a house on and that he is my parents neighbor, small world huh? She also said he was really into trapping which explains the tag.

Friend of mine works with a Moody and will ask if they have family in your area.

Odds are the listed gentleman who passed away liked trapping and perhaps something was caught in your back yard. Or else processed there.

Interesting post. It's like a straight view into someone's life in the past.

Never underestimate the value of a Google search, either. Here's the obituary for his wife, which might also explain how it got in your yard:

Wow, that's interesting! Did you know her, by any chance? Just speculating here, but I would guess that tag might have been in a box of her possessions when she moved in, or was brought to her by her son and a grandchild may have been playing with it when her son was visiting her at the Elim Home. I'm guessing that's a retirement/nursing home.

Yeah, I've hear a lot about those nursing home cats on the news lately. Your cat isn't named Oscar, is it? ::)
