In the 50's I seen alot of hooks similar to that . They were made of steel and there was a metal strip from that part that looks like a rivet head out to the hook part to keep it from coming off of what it was hooked to. Though I don't know what to name is.
 

ive been cleaning it alot lately it looks alot brassier

google lens says its a civil war sword hanger but because the spot I found it
it is more likely to wire up a harness
