This was found on the ground at an old ranch in Southern Oregon. I would love to know what it is.

I'm thinking it's decoration from the top of a horse hame/harness. :icon_scratch:

ITs from a horse formally known as "Prince".

It’s hard to see in the photos but is it a key of some kind? Looks almost like a key to tighten banjo hooks or the strings on some other kind of instrument. Is that hole in the bottom an Allen key hole or for a nut or is it round?

It would be dangerous to have anything sharp around a horse. It is the top part of a lamp . The hook inside is so you can even hang it

Welcome Fatman, interesting find!

Well, there's a eyelet at the top so that suggests an amulet of some kind. The hocus pocus looks Wiccan, maybe? Is the round end threaded? Perhaps some type of roach clip!

Best wishes!

No threads in the hollow end. It looks like it should attach to something. It was found in the tailings of a groundhog hole.

Not a key. the end is just hollow and smooth. I really hope someone can put a positive ID on this thing.

Ok times up.

No one here recognizes a Wizards staff end when they see it ?

I couldn't find an exact match, but
I think it's a fancy rains terret.

Top of a Native American Shaman's staff? The artwork looks similar to NA hieroglyphics.
