Found this Ax Head

Great find...don't have much to add re the axe head, though. Might want to work some electrolysis on it and see if there are any marks on it.

Nicely done!
 

A book titled:
Axe Makers of North America, by Allan Klenman,
says that you have a "Jersey or Baltimore Jersey" pattern
of axe.
...I guess, as you are holding the part of the head, called the "poll",
but in one pic the head appears to be slightly mushroomed-out, so that's
that - can't give you date of mfg,, sorry.

Nice relic if you go to search there are many posts and a chart with pics and dates from 1800s to present
 

Looks identical to the NC axe in AARC's chart. Gary

Would you then consider his axe head to be Narrow or Sweeping edge?
(use the upper Right illustration in same chart)
