Found this at a garage sale. Know it’s a European hanger, or briquet.thats all I know, paid four bucks for it; hoping it was a deal. Can anyone tell me anything about it? It is marked on a he hilt and the top of the blade, hoping u can see it in these pics. Any more info would be greatly appreciated, including any idea of value.

Lol, think I might need more than 8 bucks I see them on eBay for 200-1000 dollars, but I don't see any selling for that, maybe I will keep it, idk, don't really have
Anywhere for a sword and things tend to get lost and broken cause I have three kids. The scabbard is in good shape but has no markings that I can see internet is slow here so I won't post pics. Thanks for the input your info was appreciated greatly. I knew I could count on the TNet crew

I showed the photos to a sword expert(mostly Civil War era and older American blades)and he said it is not a replica.
It may be worth a lot but it is true you can buy Civil War blades without a scabbard for less than three hundred. That was a heck of a find!

Thought I would post pics of the scarab
